Newspapers

• Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read? 

I read the Daily Mail or i just watch BBC news and watch what topic they are discussing on that specific day.

• What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why?

Personally i turn to either the politics section as it is very interesting especially during these times to know what Boris or the MP has discussed about COVID and what they are planning to do. I also tend to turn to the crimes that as been committed i.e murders that has occurred or any type of crimes.

What sections do you never read, and why?

I would like to say i read all themes and sections of a newspaper but i guess i could say that i kind of skip through the advertisement as it is boring and not entertaining.

• What kinds of stories do you usually read and why?

I love to read the politics side of the newspaper or even watch the news about politics because it is so interesting watching MP's talk about the disasters that is currently happening in China for example the muslims  that are being put in concentration camps and being killed just because of their religious belief.

Do you, or someone else, buy the newspaper you read?

If i'm being brutally honest i don't tend to buy newspapers i just watch the news inline when it is broadcasting but my dad tends to bring me some newspapers and magazines that he finds interesting and intriguing as we are both into politics.

• Do you look at the online versions of any newspapers? Which newspapers? Why do you visit their website and not others?

I normally look at the Daily mail or the Guardian or the Independent but i usually like to watch the news from the t.v. as it just my preference.

 

Television

• Approximately how many hours a week do you spend watching television?

I usually watch a lot of television during the weekends or when i have any type of free time just as a relaxation from the week i just had. I'd say i watch about couple hours of tv a day or just any type of video.

• What times of day do you usually watch television?

In my household we usually watch tv every Friday as opposed to 'family movie night' and we tend to watch about 2-3 movies together.

• What programmes do you like best and why?

My favourite tv programme that i could watch on repeat is probably 'Pretty Little Liars' or 'Prison Break' along side 'The Apprentice'. I would like to say that i love each of theses programmes dearly but if i were to chose the best one i'd probably have to pick 'PLL' as it is about teen drama.

• Do you watch alone or with others? If you watch with others, who decides what you will watch?

I don't really mind who i watch tv with i love some company but also i love watching new films, series etc by myself.

• Do you watch 'live' TV or on-demand/catch-up? Do you use any other devices to watch TV (such as laptop or tablet?)

I don't watch live tv i use Netflix and i rotate between my laptop and the the television.

Film

• What films have you seen in the cinema in the last month?

During the last couple of months i didn't get a chance to go to the cinema due to COVID-19 reasons but at home i've watched loads of movies such as: Hancock, Blue streak, Orphan,What happened to Monday, Geostorm and many more.

• Who else watched the films with you?

Like i've mentioned before i watch films with families and siblings also alone.

• Who decided what films to watch?

If it is a family night we all agree to watch whatever film once everyone has read the 'blurb' but if i'm watching alone i just pick and decide for myself.

• What devices do you typically use to watch films: TV, laptop, tablet, phone etc.?

I typically like watching films on big screens such as a laptop and a TV.

Online

• How often do you access the internet?

I have access to internet everyday.

• Where do you access the internet?  At home, at college or school, or at work?

I get access from the internet at home as well at school if i have a free period and would like to do studying. 

• What are the main sites that you access?

The main sites i access are Netflix and Youtube that's were i watch all my films and videos.

• What are the main reasons for accessing these sites – for example, for information, to make purchases, communicate with friends or for entertainment?

I feel like the main 2 sites which i've named are used for entertainment purposes.

• What other activities (if any) do you do whilst accessing the internet?

Probably listening to Music.

• What social networks do you use regularly (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)? Why do you belong to these networks in particular?

I usually use twitter for more updated political information as well as the news or the important awarenesses I don't usually use Instagram as much and if i do is probably to get clothes inspiration and fashion and i use Snapchat to communicate with my friends.

• What will you change in your media consumption habits this year as a result of studying A Level Media?

I would not change anything but perhaps checking the media and the significant things that are going around the world and kind of educate my knowledge and understanding of the media in a more advanced way.
